Even in an era of rapid technological change, ceramic beads and glass beads remain indispensable materials in the biopharmaceutical field. In nanopharmaceutical manufacturing, zirconia ceramic beads serve as grinding media to mill active pharmaceutical ingredients, helping to overcome poor solubility challenges and improve bioavailability. Glass beads, on the other hand, can be used not only for cell disruption in laboratory settings but also for drug homogenization processes.

Currently, most domestically produced glass and ceramic bead products are manufactured to industrial standards, making it difficult to meet the unique requirements of the biopharmaceutical industry – such as high purity, high cleanliness, and sterility.

To address this, Gencloud, in partnership with SiLi, a European manufacturer specializing in professional glass beads, will introduce high-quality glass and ceramic bead products tailored for the biopharmaceutical sector at Booth N5V01. These products feature the following characteristics:

TYPE P PHARMA Glass Beads

（1.5-6.0mm）

  • Available in RTS (Ready-to-Sterilize) or RTU (Ready-to-Use) grades.

  • Manufactured in strict compliance with GMP standards and certified to ISO 9001, ISO 15378, and other standards.

  • Made from Type I borosilicate glass complying with pharmacopoeia requirements. High-precision beads with diameter and roundness tolerances of <10 µm available upon request.

TYPE ZY-P PHARMA Zirconia Ceramic Beads

（0.1-1.6mm）

  • Available in RTS (Ready-to-Sterilize) grade.

  • Certified to ISO 9001 and DMF (FDA), among others.

  • Tested according to GMP-compliant methods.

  • Produced using an advanced dropping (titration) process, naturally offering high roundness, dense and homogeneous structure, and high hardness.

TYPE S Glass Beads

（0.25-6mm）

  • Small-sized glass beads.

  • Offer higher roundness to avoid scratching during polishing processes.

  • Special versions available specifically for intraocular lens (IOL) polishing.

  • Customizable sieving processes available upon request.

SOLID Micro Glass Beads

（0-800μm）

  • Micron-sized glass bead products.

  • Characterized by high roundness, low process residues, and clean surfaces.

  • Suitable for use in column agglutination blood grouping cards, coagulation and platelet function test kits.
